The module supports data rates from 300 bps up to 115.2 kbps for flexible integration. Its multipoint capability addresses up to 31 devices on a single RS-485 bus. Therefore, the RS-422/RS-485 module suits applications requiring extensive device networks. Engineers configure half-duplex or full-duplex operation through DIP switches on the CPU module.

Protocol Support

The module handles Modbus RTU master and slave functions simultaneously without interference. Each port operates independently, allowing one port to poll field devices while the other transmits data upstream. This dual-role capability eliminates the need for separate gateway hardware. Additionally, the module supports custom protocols through user-defined ladder logic.

System Integration

Up to eight communication modules can mount on each FCN controller for expanded connectivity. Engineers install the module directly into the controller’s backplane without external wiring modifications. The compact form factor and 0.3 kg weight suit high-density rack configurations. Furthermore, terminal blocks include two 120-ohm terminators for proper bus termination.
