The PW604 serves as a dedicated power supply module within Yokogawa’s CENTUM VP distributed control platform. Dual Output Architecture

The PW604 generates two independent DC rails from a single AC input source. The 5.1V DC rail powers processor logic and backplane circuits. Meanwhile, the 24V DC output supplies field transmitters and I/O signal conditioning. Therefore, engineers eliminate separate power supplies in compact control cabinets.

Redundancy and Reliability

Dual-redundant configurations allow two identical modules to share the load across paired rack slots. If one unit fails, the backup assumes full capacity without process interruption. This design suits critical applications in oil and gas, petrochemical, and power generation facilities.

Protection and Diagnostics
