The Yokogawa ADV169 is a 32-channel isolated digital input module specifically designed for the CENTUM VP and CS 3000 DCS environments. It reliably acquires 24 V DC discrete signals from pushbuttons, proximity sensors, and limit switches across the plant floor. The module groups its 32 inputs into two isolated commons of 16 channels each. This isolation scheme effectively prevents cross-channel interference and simplifies troubleshooting of individual field circuits. The pressure-clamp terminal block accepts solid or stranded wires directly, reducing installation time and hardware costs.

The ADV169 processes 32 input channels simultaneously and refreshes each status every 8 milliseconds. This fast scan rate ensures timely detection of momentary switch closures and limit switch activations. The built-in debounce filtering eliminates false triggering from mechanical contact bounce and electrical noise. Each channel consumes only 4.1 mA of current, minimizing overall power draw and thermal buildup within the cabinet. The 2 kV AC isolation barrier robustly protects the controller from voltage transients and ground-loop currents. Status LEDs illuminate individually for each active input channel, accelerating field commissioning and fault diagnosis. The hot-swap design permits online module replacement without disrupting the overall system operation. The P50 and P51 variants feature conformal coating that shields sensitive electronics from corrosive gases and moisture in harsh industrial settings.
