Extension Capabilities and System Interconnection

This rack connects to the main Premium station via a shielded bus extension cable. It supports a maximum extension distance of 10 meters between racks. The internal backplane carries both data and power signals to all six slots. Each slot accepts standard Premium I/O, counter, or communication modules. This architecture enables distributed control for large-scale production lines. Consequently, engineers can position I/O closer to field devices for better signal integrity.

Power Distribution and Electrical Characteristics

The TSXRKY6EX receives its operating voltage directly from the main power supply module. It provides a total backplane current capacity of 1.5 A at 5 V DC for all connected modules. An additional 0.5 A at 24 V DC supports output modules and sensor supplies. The rack includes built-in overcurrent protection for each slot. This feature safeguards downstream modules from short-circuit events. Moreover, the unit draws minimal power during idle states to reduce energy costs.

Installation Flexibility and Environmental Tolerance

This extension rack supports both DIN rail and screw mounting options for versatile placement. Its compact form factor fits within most standard IP20 control enclosures. The operating temperature ranges from 0 °C to 60 °C for reliable performance. It withstands humidity levels between 10% and 95% without condensation. Furthermore, the rack resists vibration up to 0.75 g from 10 to 57 Hz. These characteristics make it suitable for automotive and material handling applications.
