Flexible Input Configuration
The TSXAEY420 offers eight differential inputs that accept both current and voltage signals. You can configure each channel independently via software for 4–20 mA or 0–10 V DC operation. This flexibility makes the module suitable for connecting pressure transmitters, thermocouples, and flow meters. Consequently, you can standardize on a single module type for multiple sensor families.
High-Precision Signal Conversion
This analog input module delivers 12-bit resolution, translating analog signals into 4096 discrete digital steps. The module achieves ±0.25% accuracy at 25 °C, ensuring reliable measurement for closed-loop control applications. In addition, the multiplexed conversion architecture processes all eight channels in just 10 ms. This speed provides timely updates for rapid process fluctuations without overwhelming the PLC scan cycle.
Robust Electrical Isolation
The TSXAEY420 incorporates 500 V AC isolation between the field inputs and the backplane logic circuitry. This isolation protects the sensitive processor from ground loops, surges, and accidental high-voltage contact. The module also handles common-mode voltages up to ±10 V DC, enabling accurate readings in electrically noisy environments. Therefore, you can install this module near motors and drives without compromising signal integrity.
Installation and Physical Characteristics
This module mounts directly into a standard Schneider rack using the backplane connector. Its compact dimensions of 130 x 100 x 45 mm occupy only a single slot, saving valuable panel space. At just 0.35 kg, the module adds minimal weight to the overall chassis assembly. You can install or swap the TSXAEY420 quickly during maintenance, reducing system downtime.
