Moreover, the LED technology consumes less power than traditional CCFL alternatives, reducing overall energy costs.
Reliable Touch Input
This touch panel screen employs analog resistive technology with a minimum rating of 1.5 million actuations. The touch surface registers presses accurately and maintains sensitivity even after prolonged use. You can design screens with buttons, sliders, and data-entry fields for flexible operator control. Consequently, the HMISTO512 reduces the need for physical pushbuttons and selector switches on your control panel.
Efficient Memory Management
The HMISTO512 provides 128 KB of battery-backed SRAM for runtime variables and user settings. The 512 KB Flash EPROM stores your application screens, alarm configurations, and system parameters permanently. The lithium battery retains all critical data for up to six months during power interruptions. This robust memory architecture supports up to 200 user-programmable alarms for effective fault reporting.
Flexible Communication and Connectivity
This touch panel offers two communication ports for seamless integration with control systems. The RS-232 port supports direct connections to PLCs, printers, or programming terminals. The RS-485 port enables multi-drop networks with up to 31 devices on a single bus. The module supports Modbus, Uni-TE, and custom ASCII protocols through software selection. Therefore, the HMISTO512 connects easily to Schneider PLCs and third-party controllers.
Durable Construction for Factory Environments
The HMISTO512 carries an IP65 front-panel rating against dust and water jets. This seal protects internal electronics from washdown procedures and airborne contaminants. The terminal operates reliably across a 0 °C to 50 °C temperature range. The lightweight 0.50 kg design simplifies mounting while the rugged enclosure withstands vibration and light impacts.
