High-Current Output Driving
The DAP 106 provides six independent output channels, each sourcing up to 2 A continuously. This current capacity allows direct connection to small motors, solenoids, and indicator lamps without external relays. The total load across all channels must not exceed 6 A simultaneously. Consequently, you can consolidate multiple devices onto a single module, reducing panel complexity and wiring costs.
Comprehensive Protection Circuitry
This digital output module integrates short-circuit and over-temperature protection on every channel. These protective circuits automatically disconnect the output when detecting a fault condition. After the fault clears, the output resumes normal operation without manual intervention. Furthermore, the module provides diagnostic feedback to the PLC through the backplane bus. This feature enables your control program to identify and respond to channel-specific faults quickly.
Fast Switching and Low Power Loss
The DAP 106 achieves a rapid response time of just 0.5 ms for both turn-on and turn-off transitions. This speed ensures precise timing for high-frequency applications, such as PWM control or rapid indexing. The solid-state design also maintains an on-state voltage drop below 1.5 V at full load. Therefore, the module dissipates minimal heat and operates efficiently, extending its service life in confined cabinets.
Isolation and Electrical Safety
This module provides 1,500 V AC isolation between the field outputs and the backplane logic circuitry. This high isolation rating effectively shields the PLC processor from transient surges and ground potential differences. In addition, the DAP 106 draws only 70 mA from the backplane, placing a minimal burden on the system power supply. This efficient design allows you to populate multiple modules in a single rack without overloading the power budget.
Mounting and Physical Design
The DAP 106 mounts directly into standard Schneider chassis racks using a robust 20-pin connector. Its compact form factor, measuring 99 x 114 x 70 mm, consumes one slot width in the rack. Weighing just 0.39 kg, this module adds negligible mechanical stress to the backplane assembly. You can quickly replace the module during maintenance, minimizing production downtime.
