This module provides two independent direct-current output channels for industrial control applications. Each channel delivers a nominal 24 VDC at 2 A continuous current. Engineers use this unit to drive solenoids, relays, and small actuators directly from a PLC backplane. Channel Architecture and Isolation Features

The 45C63 incorporates two fully isolated output channels with dedicated return paths. Each channel features optical isolation rated at 1500 VAC for one minute. This isolation protects the backplane logic from field wiring faults and transients. Additionally, each channel includes independent short-circuit and overcurrent protection circuits. These protective features automatically shut down a faulty channel without affecting the other.

Power Ratings and Load Capabilities

Every channel supplies up to 2 A continuously with a peak current of 3 A for 10 seconds. The total module output power reaches 48 W under full load conditions. Each output driver uses a MOSFET switching element with low on-resistance. This design minimizes heat generation and improves overall energy efficiency. Furthermore, the module handles inductive loads with built-in flyback diodes for transient suppression.

Physical Dimensions and Mounting

The 45C63 measures 12.7 cm in width, 25.4 cm in height, and 20.3 cm in depth. It weighs approximately 1.1 kg, which ensures stable seating in the backplane rack. A steel chassis provides mechanical rigidity and electromagnetic shielding. The unit mounts directly into a standard 19-inch rack or compatible PLC housing. Its front panel contains all terminal connections and status indicators for easy access.

Field Wiring and Connector Interfaces

A 25-pin D-sub connector handles all field output wiring on the front face. This connector accepts wire gauges from 0.2 mm² to 1.5 mm² for flexible installations. Two separate terminal blocks provide positive and return connections for each channel. The module also includes a dedicated earth ground terminal for system safety. Moreover, color-coded wiring labels simplify installation and reduce connection errors.

Internal Components and Energy Storage

The printed circuit board contains 8 power MOSFETs, 4 optocouplers, and 6 rectifier diodes. A 1000 µF electrolytic capacitor bank provides energy storage for peak load demands. This capacitor bank sustains output voltage during momentary power interruptions. The module also includes 12 precision resistors for current sensing and feedback control. These components work together to deliver stable, ripple-free DC output.

Status Indication and Diagnostic Feedback

Four front-panel LEDs indicate channel status, fault conditions, and module power. Green LEDs confirm normal operation while red LEDs signal overcurrent or short-circuit events. The module communicates diagnostic data through the backplane communication bus. This data includes load current readings and fault history logs. Consequently, maintenance teams can identify issues without external measurement tools.
