High-Density 4-20 mA Current Output

The 45C363 analog output module delivers eight high-density current output channels for controlling multiple process actuators and instruments. This analog output module features fixed 4-20 mA outputs, making it ideal for applications requiring consistent loop-powered signals. The eight-channel design significantly reduces the number of modules needed for large-scale control systems.

The module achieves an accuracy of ±0.1% of full scale at 25°C, ensuring reliable performance for demanding process control loops. The temperature drift of only ±50 ppm/°C maintains this precision across varying ambient conditions. A fast 1 ms settling time enables rapid response in dynamic applications, such as proportional valve control and variable speed drive regulation.

Integrated Loop Power and Protection

This analog output module includes internal loop power for all eight channels, eliminating the need for external 24 VDC supplies. The 45C363 provides 1500 VAC isolation between individual output channels, eliminating ground loop issues and improving overall signal integrity. This channel-to-channel isolation proves essential when connecting multiple field devices operating at different reference potentials.

The module features comprehensive protection, including short-circuit protection and reverse polarity protection on every channel. These safeguards prevent module damage from accidental wiring faults or field device failures. The outputs drive loads up to 600 Ω per channel, accommodating most standard 4-20 mA field instruments.

Physical Design and Installation Features

This analog output module occupies a single slot in the Automax base rack and measures 60 mm in width. The module weighs 0.35 kg, making handling easy during installation and replacement procedures. A 34-point removable screw terminal block on the front panel accepts all field wiring connections, simplifying both initial installation and ongoing maintenance.

Eight green LEDs provide clear visual status indication, with one LED per output channel showing normal operation. This comprehensive indicator set enables rapid troubleshooting without requiring a programming terminal. The terminal block accepts wires up to 2.5 mm² (AWG 14), ensuring secure and reliable connections.

Power and Environmental Specifications

The 45C363 draws 350 mA from the 5 VDC backplane, making it the most power-hungry module in the series. This analog output module operates reliably across a temperature range of 0°C to +55°C. It also withstands humidity from 10% to 90% (non-condensing) and resists vibration up to 2G at 10-100 Hz.
