This microprocessor-based burner control unit manages ignition sequencing and flame supervision for single-burner industrial systems. It handles gas, oil, coal, or combination fuels with advanced safety features beyond conventional controls. Sequence Control and Timing Parameters

The Honeywell RM7800L1046 operates on 120 Vac (+10/-15%) at 50/60 Hz (±10%) and consumes only 10W of power. The pilot flame establishing period lasts either 4 or 10 seconds, while the main flame period runs 10 seconds or intermittent. Preignition occurs before the purge cycle, and the prepurge duration depends on the selected ST7800A purge timer card. The unit provides a 15-second postpurge after each run cycle.

Five front-panel LEDs provide clear sequence status information for operators at a glance. A five-function Run/Test Switch simplifies startup procedures and field diagnostics. Nonvolatile memory retains history files and lockout status even after power loss occurs. The included keyboard display module enables easy system monitoring and configuration. Interchangeable plug-in flame amplifiers offer flexibility for different flame detection methods.

System Compatibility and Application

This unit works with Q7800A or Q7800B universal wiring subbases and various flame amplifiers including R7847, R7848, R7849, R7851, R7852, R7861, and R7886. It replaces older models such as the BC7000/PM720M seamlessly. Industrial boilers, commercial HVAC heating systems, and fuel-fired process equipment benefit from this control. The unit’s robust safety features make it suitable for high-safety combustion environments requiring data logging and remote diagnostics.
