This GE IS420YAICS1B I/O pack operates from a 24V DC power supply. It provides 16 discrete output channels for Mark VIe control systems. The unit measures 18 cm in length, 12 cm in width, and 3.5 cm in height. Its total weight equals 0.45 kg without any packaging materials.

The GE IS420YAICS1B includes 16 solid state outputs with 0.5A rating each. Additionally, it features one backplane connector for system integration. A single 4-pin terminal block connects the DC power input. The I/O pack contains 16 MOSFETs, 16 LED indicators, 1 FPGA, 8 voltage regulators, 16 resistors, and 12 capacitors.

GE IS420YAICS1B stores energy using one electrolytic capacitor. This capacitor provides 47 µF at 35V rating for output hold-up. Consequently, the I/O pack maintains output states during 15 millisecond power interruptions. Therefore, field devices remain energized through brief voltage dips.

Design and Integration

This I/O pack uses four-layer PCB construction with isolated output banks for noise immunity. Consequently, the GE IS420YAICS1B operates reliably from -10°C to +55°C ambient temperature.

For installation, you need M3 screws for the four mounting holes. The I/O pack draws 150 mA typical current from the 24V DC supply. Each output channel includes automatic current limiting. We recommend using 20 AWG wire for all output connections.

Practical Application

This discrete output I/O pack drives solenoids, relays, and indicator lamps in turbine systems. It receives command data from the Mark VIe controller via backplane.
