The GE IS200EPSMG2A IS200EPSMG2AED supplies regulated DC power to Mark VI turbine control systems. This module converts 120V AC or 125V DC into multiple output voltages. Therefore, it powers all control boards in a standard turbine cabinet.
Product Overview
We designed this power supply module for high reliability in industrial environments. Its redundant internal design continues operation if one converter fails. Moreover, this unit includes comprehensive diagnostic reporting through the backplane.

Dual Converter Architecture
The GE IS200EPSMG2A IS200EPSMG2AED uses two independent power converters in parallel. Its eight bulk capacitors store energy for the primary DC bus. Additionally, the module automatically balances load between both converters. You get seamless operation even with one converter offline for maintenance.
Energy Storage Array
Eight bulk capacitors provide 25 ms of hold-up time during AC interruptions. Sixteen ceramic capacitors filter high-frequency noise from each output rail. The output capacitors mount directly across the backplane power pins. Clean power ensures reliable operation of voltage-sensitive processor boards. The capacitors also reduce output impedance for transient load steps.
Input Configuration
The module accepts either AC or DC input through the same terminal block. Automatic input sensing selects the correct operating mode. For AC input, connect L, N, and ground terminals accordingly. For DC input, connect positive to L and negative to N terminals. The module disables DC input sensing when it detects AC presence.
Installation Steps
Insert this power module into a dedicated power slot in the Mark VI rack. Align the GE IS200EPSMG2A IS200EPSMG2AED with both backplane connectors carefully. Push the board evenly until both ejector levers lock into position. Then tighten all four corner screws to ensure grounding contact. Connect the AC input wires to the front terminal block with 0.6 Nm torque.
Output Monitoring
Each output rail includes independent voltage and current sensing. The module reports these values through the backplane communication bus. An onboard microcontroller logs maximum and minimum values over time. A red LED illuminates if any output deviates by more than 5%. The power good relay activates only when all outputs remain within tolerance.
Thermal Management
A variable-speed fan controls internal temperature based on load current. The fan starts at 40% speed when the internal temperature reaches 40°C. Speed increases linearly to 100% at 60°C ambient temperature. An overtemperature warning occurs at 75°C internal temperature. The module shuts down completely at 85°C to prevent component damage. Allow 30 minutes cooling before restarting after a thermal trip.
Redundancy Features
Two power modules can operate in parallel for N+1 redundancy. Each module provides isolation diodes on its outputs. A failed module automatically disconnects from the power bus. The remaining modules continue supplying full system power without interruption. The GE IS200EPSMG2A IS200EPSMG2AED includes a fault relay for external alarms.
Application Scope
This power module suits Mark VI, Mark VIe, and legacy Mark V systems. Many turbine control panels use the GE IS200EPSMG2A IS200EPSMG2AED as their primary source. Its rugged design meets nuclear power plant seismic qualification requirements.
