Logic Configuration and Operation

This module supports both positive logic (sourcing) and negative logic (sinking) field devices. It accepts signals from PNP sensors with positive logic or NPN sensors with negative logic. The IC693MDL654 includes a configurable common terminal for each bank of eight inputs. Users can wire the common to either +24 VDC or 0 VDC depending on the sensor type. The module automatically adapts to the selected logic configuration without jumpers.

Installation and Configuration

Install the IC693MDL654 into any available slot within the Series 90-30 I/O rack. Secure the module using the retaining screws at both top and bottom positions. Connect the external 24 VDC supply to the designated power terminals on the module. Wire each field device to its corresponding input channel with proper polarity. Configure the common terminals for either positive or negative logic based on your sensor type. The CPU automatically detects the module and assigns input addresses upon power-up. You can monitor channel status through the front-panel LEDs.
