This GE DS200UDSAG1A relay board operates from a 125V DC power supply. It provides excitation control for generator field regulation systems. The unit measures 26 cm in length, 18 cm in width, and 5 cm in height. Its total weight reaches 1.1 kg without any packaging materials.

The GE DS200UDSAG1A includes six SCR firing channels for phase control. Additionally, it features four analog feedback inputs for voltage and current sensing. A single 50-pin ribbon connector handles all control signals. The board contains 1 microcontroller, 6 optocouplers, 8 voltage regulators, 12 capacitors, and 22 resistors.

GE DS200UDSAG1A stores energy using two electrolytic capacitors. Together, they provide 470 µF at 200V rating for field current support. This energy storage maintains excitation during 40 millisecond line dips. Therefore, the board prevents generator voltage collapse during transient faults.

Design and Integration

This relay board uses six-layer PCB construction with high-creepage isolation barriers for safety. Consequently, the GE DS200UDSAG1A operates reliably from -15°C to +60°C ambient temperature.

For installation, you need M4 screws for the four mounting holes. The board draws 150 mA typical current from the 125V DC supply. Each analog input includes software selectable filtering. We recommend using 14 AWG wire for the field output connection.

Practical Application

This relay board regulates generator terminal voltage with ±0.5% accuracy. It controls field current based on reactive power demand signals. The GE DS200UDSAG1A also provides over-excitation and under-excitation protection limits. Therefore, it ensures stable generator synchronization with the utility grid.
