Technical Specifications and Processing Capabilities

The ABB FAU810 features two independent channels, each capable of processing one flame detector signal simultaneously . A 32-bit Motorola ColdFire® microprocessor samples signals at 2000 times per second for real-time analysis . The unit calculates flame intensity, frequency, and combustion quality through proprietary adaptive algorithms . Furthermore, the module continuously self-checks its electronics every 0.1 seconds, ensuring fail-safe operation .

Input and Output Interfaces

This analysis unit accepts signals from various flame detectors, including SF810 scanners, DFS scanners, and flame rods . The unit provides three Form C relay outputs for flame and fault status signaling. Two isolated 4-20 mA analog outputs independently monitor flame intensity, frequency, or quality . Additionally, two digital inputs enable remote parameter switching for different fuel types .

Communication and Diagnostics

The ABB FAU810 supports redundant RS-485 interfaces with selectable MODBUS or PROFIBUS DP-V1 protocols . A graphic LCD display provides local status indication, including power and channel status . Four programming buttons allow configuration directly on the unit. Furthermore, Flame Explorer software enables remote configuration and diagnostics via the RS-485 link .

Installation and Compatibility

You can install this unit on a standard DIN rail within a control cabinet . The ABB FAU810 works with legacy DFS scanners and the latest SF810 models, making it the standard module for retrofitting existing installations . The unit supports a maximum cable distance of 500 meters between the scanner and the analysis unit . Users can stack up to seven modules with power entry on the middle module .
