The Yokogawa ACM21RS-232 delivers dual-channel serial communication for the CENTUM DCS. This module features two independent RS-232C ports for flexible device connectivity. Furthermore, this module offers configurable parity settings including none, odd, or even. However, please note that “no parity” is unavailable at 19200 bps . Each channel has independent data rate selection from 1200 to 19200 bps.

Installation & Power Management

This communication module draws only 0.8 A from a 5.0 V DC supply. It stores negligible energy internally, making hot-swapping safe in most scenarios. Engineers appreciate the dual-port design for reducing total module count.

You can configure each channel’s communication parameters via dip switches. The operating temperature ranges from 0°C to 55°C for indoor use. For harsh environments, Yokogawa recommends additional surge protection on long cable runs.
